A woman in Arizona was billed $39,652 per dose for scorpion anti-venom that is sold in Mexico for $100 a dose. It was developed in Mexico, and they don’t see much of that $39,652.
This resonates for me because my baby was recently stung by a scorpion and it took 6 of these doses to counteract the venom - but the hospital only charged us for two.
And people continually ask me why I live in Mexico…
